A beautiful location in an old chateau. Rooms are a little dated but quite large. Gardens and swimming pool are of a high standard with plenty of options for other sporting activities such as table tennis, bikes etc.
I thought that the deluxe suite was a little dated especially considering the price for the room.

Great spot, remote, very quiet location in the Dordogne. Excellent staff with especially fine food. Worth a special trip to seek this place out.
Stair access to our room was a bit tricky.

Friendly and helpful staff, the hotel has been improved since we last stayed there 8 years ago, the new courtyard looks lovely.

We spent 5 weeks in France and the "Chateau" was clearly the best place we stayed at. The standard of accomodation was first class, the food superlative and the service far exceeded our expectations. Everything about the place was 5 star!! If you go to this area of France you must experience this.
There was absolutely nothing not to like!!

The hotel building and grounds are beautiful, as is the location. The rooms are very comfortable and well-appointed.
The restaurant is very over-priced and serves bland tasting nouvelle cuisine. There seems little imagination in the presentation - we had a salmon dish, fillet steak, and guinea fowl all served with the same garnish and plate decoration (including a red wine poached pear)! The breakfast, at 12 euros is also very over-priced and not very special. If you stay here, go out for a coffee and croissant for breakfast in one of the surrounding villages, and eat dinner in any of the great restaurants in the area.

Minor point but it would have been nice to have the wireless internet signal extend to the bedroom.

We have just come back from a 5 day stay at Chteau de L'Hoste and I can only say our time spent there was perfect. The hotel is beautiful and the food was lovely.
The only complaint was that the pool was freezing cold even though the tempreture during the day was around 35 degrees.
